Work for Poppy's Books

Looking for a flexible way to boost your income which

fits round your family?

Poppy’s Books are currently looking for agents to sell our brilliant range of children’s titles via book parties and local events.

The company now offers two fantastic opportunities for parents looking to work flexibly around their family commitments:

1. Part-Time Poppy's Books Sales Agent

Ideal for parents with very young children who are looking for a role where their children do not need to be in any type of formalised childcare

Agents work selling books at toddler groups, preschools and fundraising events. It is easy to do this with young children with you as most groups are happy that your children join in while you are there.

Agents arrange their own visits to groups or events and display books for parents to purchase.

Books are supplied as mixed boxes at £50 each with books to the value of £150+.

Agents may sell the books in any way they want and retain the profit.

All agents are supported by excellent training where required, assistance with bookings and Poppy's Books are always happy to listen or advise.

The second role Poppy's Books offer is more suitable for parents with children in preschool or with older children.

2. Part-Time Multicultural, Social and Disability Books Field Sales Agents to work selling multicultural, social and disability issue books directly to preschool environments.

Agents usually make appointments by phone and arrange a visit to demonstrate books. Visits can last from 20 minutes to an hour and 2 or 3 visits can be made in a morning or an afternoon.

There is no hard sell involved, preschools have a requirement for the books Poppy's Books supply, they simply do not have the time to source the books themselves.

A kit of books is supplied to agents at a cost of £100 or a larger set at £150. Catalogues will be supplied to supplement sales.

Agents will take orders at each visit and these will attract commission.

Agents are expected to read the kit books and know all the selling points for the books that they are supplying, so you will need to have a passion for reading and an interest in books.

Agents decide themselves which days they want to work, and where.

It is very unlikely that you will be able to take young children with you on visits. It is much harder to sound professional if you are having to keep an eye on your children at the same time, therefore this role is ideal for parents with a child at preschool or with older children.

If you love books and want to work selling a product you can feel passionate about then working for Poppy's Books could be ideal for you!
